Iyuno Co-Hosts Brazilian Student Dubbing Workshop with Universal, SP Cine

In collaboration with Universal Pictures and SP Cine, the cultural body of the São Paulo City Hall, Iyuno hosted a free dubbing workshop for local public school students from the suburbs of São Paulo. 

The session was led by Iyuno’s Wendel Bezerra, Country Manager, Brazil, who shared the techniques, challenges, and behind-the-scenes curiosities of the world of dubbing to an engrossed audience. The students were also engaged in interactive exercises, giving them a hands-on experience of the complexity and magic of voice acting for film and television. 

The animated feature The Wild Robot, dubbed in Brazilian by Iyuno and distributed by Universal, was selected for the interactive portion of the workshop. After performing their dubbing work and receiving feedback, the students were treated to a private screening of the feature length animation. 

At the close of the event, the students were given the opportunity to share stories and take pictures with Bezerra, known throughout the country as the Brazilian voice of SpongeBob, Goku, and numerous other iconic characters. The connections made at this event fostered both inspiration and community, giving young people from an underserved area access to creative outlets that might otherwise seem out of reach. 

Looking ahead, the next phase of the initiative will be an in-person course at Iyuno’s Brazilian studios, an intensive program aimed at providing meaningful entry into the world of dubbing - equipping participants with practical skills and experience to prepare them for a career in the localization industry.
