Magical Moment: Thelma the Unicorn Wins German Dubbing Award

Iyuno is thrilled to announce that our German dubbing team has won the Best Animated Feature award at the Deutscher Synchronpreis Awards 2025 for their outstanding work on Thelma the Unicorn. This recognition is a testament to their exceptional technical and creative accomplishments. 

“It is wonderful to see our hard work as well as our passion that we poured into this project being appreciated in this way,” said Rafael Albert, Dubbing Director. “Absolutely everyone who worked on the German version of Thelma the Unicorn not only did an excellent job but more importantly, also contributed to giving the film its unique personality in German.” 

The award was accepted live on stage at Berlin’s Tipi at the Chancellery venue by Rafael and Julia Vieregge, the German voice of Thelma. Rafael praised Julia for her vocal and musical talent, calling out her outstanding performance of “the vocally challenging songs.” 

“As well as Thelma herself, we wanted to find a cast who would bring the same energy and feel to the production as the original,” continued Rafael, “It was a great pleasure for all of us to work on a project that was of such high-quality and that had clearly been produced with such love and care.” 

The German dub of Thelma the Unicorn officially premiered globally on Netflix on May 17, 2024 and was recorded at Iyuno’s state-of-the-art Berlin studios.
