QC Editor, English-Chinese Subtitling

The English to Chinese Subtitle QC Editor will spot, simulate, transcribe, and proof all types of media-related content for any/all of the following mediums: DVD, broadcast, theatrical, streaming media, dubbing, gaming and corporate projects. Work will primarily involve the subtitling medium, in addition to working with text, website, menu, and other mediums. The successful applicant will be able to do the following:

Specific Responsibilities

• Proofreading subtitle against media to ensure accuracy; editing subtitle layout and updating related database at the same time.

• Complete work assignments in a timely and accurate manner.

• Possess the aptitude to learn specific, SDI-centric computer programs.

• Able to apply client-specific protocols as needed and adhere to all special instructions.

• Be proactive and communicate problems/issues/developments effectively to supervisor, peers, and/or internal staff as needed.

• Attend departmental or other meetings as directed.

• Create regular feedback for peers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Create and implement training for all freelance resources

• Provide feedbacks to freelance resources and in-house QC editors for issues encountered during subtitle or dubbing production

• Perform QC for subtitling and dubbing projects

• Respond to rejection and take necessary measures

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in English or related field and/or 1-2 years related experience

• Previous subtitle or captioning translating or editing experience is a must

• Interested in diverse media, such as movies, TV drama and documentaries
